- [07/11/2008] In an effort to make SIMs more consistent, I will be moving the deadline from 6:00 PM ET to 3:00 PM ET. (This will be effective Monday, July 14, 2008.) This means that instructions are due Monday, Wednesday and Friday by 3:00 PM ET. As stated on the MB, this means that I will begin processing AS CLOSE to 3:00 PM ET as possible, depending on my work schedule. Most days, games should be uploaded by 5:00 PM ET with the other files shortly thereafter. Thanks! -Arborwolf
- [01/30/2008] To ALL coaches in ALL leagues,
Effective immediately, any coach of multiple teams that engages in unfair recruiting practices is subject to having his or her accounts canceled without notice. This determination will be at the sole discretion of the management. If in doubt about your actions, please ask. No cancelations will result from self-reporting/inquiring if any prohibited actions are halted. The primary offense under scrutiny involves "dropping" recruits with one team, allowing another team to swoop in with recruiting points and pick them up.
Thank you for your cooperation in ensuring that the game remains a fair and competitive endeavor.
Regards,
Arborwolf and Pick6king
- [12/27/2007] Please check the Main Board of the message board for an announcement regarding games next week (New Year's week). Thanks! -Arborwolf
- [12/20/2007] Well, good news, sportsfans. I have accepted a new position with a different company, which begins January 3, 2008. This means I will be unable to begin games at 3:00 PM ET as I have done for the previous 9 months. We will be going back to the 6:00 PM ET (deadline) schedule effective Monday, December 31, 2007. This means you have until 6:00 PM ET to submit instructions. I do not yet know precisely when I'll process games, but I'll know more as it plays out over the first week(s) of January. Thanks for your patience while we switch back to the old schedule. -Arborwolf
- [12/01/2007] Credit Special!
All credits purchased in December will result in a 10% credit bonus. (Spend $10 [1000 credits], receive 1100 credits.) There is no minimum level to qualify for the 10% bonus. However, if you spend $50 (or more), you will receive a 15% credit bonus. I don't think I've said it recently, but I appreciate your support of the site and hope to give back a little during this holiday season. Blessings and thanks! -Arborwolf
- [11/05/2007] I am in Atlanta on business and will be running SIMs a little later this week. I still hope to have all results posted by 6:00 PM, but in case I am late, know you know why. Cheers! -Arborwolf
- [09/19/2007] State of the Game -Arborwolf
- [07/26/2007] The recruiting code (on the website) was corrected to eliminate the error of changing attributes. Please communicate with Arborwolf if you still experience problems. -Pick6king
- [07/07/2007] The recruiting code has always contained an allowance for some variability in scouted attributes from coach to coach. As it has been functioning, variances were relatively rare and very minor, and generally unbiased. I believe I have now eliminated any variance. We decided to make this change for a reason we don't want to publicize. In any case, it should result in a small impact (if any) on any single coach. Please let us know if you notice any further variances or have further concerns. -Pick6king
- [06/25/2007] A brief reminder that games on Wednesday (June 27) and Friday (June 29) will be SIM'ed by P6K. They will be SIM'ed after 6:00 PM, but I encourage you to keep submitting lineups on time. P6K will also run recruits on Saturday, June 30. I will resume SIM control on Monday (July 2), when I return from CreationFest. -Arborwolf
- [06/13/2007] As posted on the MB, games will be a little late Friday due to a family outing. The deadline has been extended to afford you more time to submit coaching and recruiting instructions (as noted on the main page). -Arborwolf
- [05/07/2007] Please check the MB for information regarding SIMs for Wednesday, May 9th and Friday, May 11th. (Each SIM will be later in the afternoon/evening due to a business trip to Atlanta.)
Blessings and thanks, Arborwolf
- [03/25/2007] Effective now for leagues 4 and 13, and for all future leagues when their new seasons start, I have tweaked the recruiting scouting functionality. The tweak does not alter the stated functionality of scouting. It does, however, better execute the stated objectives. Specifically, I believe the old code produced results that were too predictable in some instances. Please let me know if you have any questions. -pick6king
- [03/21/2007] The availability of a full season's BoxScores and PBPs (accessible on your team's schedule page) is a feature which will remain available for all teams, regardless of program size. Enjoy! -Arborwolf
- [03/17/2007] I re-designed the Hall of Champions page. Your comments and suggestions are welcome on the Enhancement: Hall of Champions page Re-designed thread created on the Main MB. Cheers! -Arborwolf
- [03/17/2007]
The availability of a full season's BoxScores and PBPs (accessible on your team's schedule page) will soon become a feature which will available for any (Middle, Large or Sponsor) upgraded program.
However, I'm not removing its availability immediately, so this will not take effect until Saturday, May 5th, when Leagues 1 and 9 rollover. Once that happens, the expanded schedule (full season BoxScores and PBPs) will only be available to upgraded programs.
You will still have access to the three most recent games in the same manner you had before the schedule page was modified. -Arborwolf
- [03/08/2007] The Program Size was removed from the Team Stat pages yesterday evening. However, the data is still documented on the Team Coach pages. This was done so you have less of an obvious idea as to who you're competing against for recruits, be they small, middle, large or sponsor programs. Cheers! -Arborwolf
- [03/07/2007] A couple notes:
1. The basketball game is being migrated to a new server this weekend. You should not experience any pains of this move as Mike has a coordinated game plan in place.
2. As of this moment, 3:00 PM ET will still be the instructions deadline for Monday, March 12.
The server migration and Day Light Savings have been taken into consideration, but if the change to 3:00 PM ET is delayed another week, it's another week of unpredictable SIM times. The site should be operating more smoothly now (with SimStats offline) and everyone has known about 3:00 PM ET since last week. Thanks! -Arborwolf
- [03/04/2007] In an effort to make SIMs more consistent, I will be moving the deadline from 6:00 PM ET to 3:00 PM ET. (This will be effective Monday, March 12, 2007.) This is effective for all instruction submissions due Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The benefit in having the deadline at 3:00 PM ET is that games and other files will be executed and uploaded by 6:00 PM ET. I look forward to providing a more consistent feel to enhance your gaming experience. (Of note, I also hope to give advance notice each Saturday as to when recruits will be available. More to come.) Thanks! -Arborwolf
- [03/02/2007] I have made the schedule changes (links to box scores, view PBP and/or download PBP) available to all teams. The testing today went well, so it's been published game-wide. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Thanks! -Arborwolf
- [03/02/2007] I re-designed the schedule page and added links to Box Scores and PBP files. I am not quite done with this page (more PBPs, separate sections of the schedule, etc.), but your feedback is appreciated. (Thread on the Main MB.) As of this post, only Large and Sponsor programs can view this feature. I wanted a smaller group to test before I release it to all teams on Saturday. Thanks! -Arborwolf
- [02/26/2007] As P6K mentioned last Monday, one of the things I hope to do is bring more consistency to game posting. Please check the Message Board and log your vote/opinion on the subject of consistently timed SIMs. Thanks! -Arborwolf
- [02/19/2007] Tonight is coach arborwolf's first night of running the games. We have experienced some expected pain tonight, so some games are going to be posted past 11:00 pm. Please be patient with coach arborwolf as we go through a few growing pains. I believe within a short period of time he will be able to bring more consistency to game time postings.
